The Four Somatotype Results
Ectomorph
Lean and slender with narrow frame, long limbs, and a fast metabolism. Both muscle and fat gain can be slow.
Mesomorph
Naturally muscular with broad shoulders, defined waist, and balanced metabolism. Responds well to most training.
Endomorph
Rounder build with a wider frame and a tendency to store fat more readily. Slower resting metabolism.
Balanced / Mixed
A blend of two types — for example ecto-mesomorph or meso-endomorph. Most people are blends.
